If you’re running into issues while using the Foodsmart app, here are a few quick and easy troubleshooting methods that could help solve the problem. Steps are listed in order of least invasive to most.
Force-close the Foodsmart app:
Sometimes your Foodsmart app just needs a quick restart.
- Force-close the app by double-pressing the home button quickly. If you don’t have a home button, swipe up slowly from the bottom of your device’s home screen; then swipe up again on Foodsmart to close the app.
If the problem persists, move on to the next troubleshooting tip.
Restart your phone:
- Restart your device. Steps will vary based on your device model.

Check to make sure you’re on the latest version of the Foodsmart app:
How do I know if I’m on the latest version of Foodsmart?
- Make sure you're running the latest version of the Foodsmart app in the Apple App Store. If the app says Open, then you already have the latest version.
- If you see the Update button, tap it to update to the latest version.
- Power off your device and wait 30 seconds.
- Power your device back on.
The newest version of the app contains bug fixes, so hopefully this solves your problem. If there’s no option to update, move on to the last troubleshooting tip.
Uninstall and reinstall the Foodsmart app:
- Force-close the app by double-pressing the home button quickly. (If you don’t have a home button, swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then right).
- Find the Foodsmart app and swipe up to close it.
- Uninstall the app by tapping and holding Foodsmart’s icon and select Remove App.
- Power off your device. Hold down its power button and then Slide to turn off, as the screen says. Leave it powered down for 30 seconds.

Turn the phone back on by pressing and holding the power button.
- Once your device is powered back up, reinstall Foodsmart. Open the Apple App Store and download the Foodsmart app again.
- Open Foodsmart and select Sign In. Then sign in using the group and credentials you used to sign up.
